Title: Holiday Open House Event Poster for the NHSPCA
Challenge:
Design a poster to increase community engagement, attract guests, and raise donations for the NHSPCA’s Holiday Open House event.
Process:
I began by gathering event details and researching previous NHSPCA posters to understand their existing design style. For inspiration, I looked to the Love Actually movie poster and decided to add a playful, cultural twist to make the event stand out. After sketching my initial ideas, I created digital illustrations in Adobe Illustrator, selecting a holiday color palette and typography that resonated with the season. I featured a heartwarming image of a boy under mistletoe with a dog, symbolizing warmth and connection, and incorporated the NHSPCA logo to increase brand recognition.
To bring the design to life in a realistic context, I used Placeit to present my design on various mockups, ensuring that it appeared polished and professional in real-world scenarios. After refining the design based on feedback, I submitted the final version on time, ready for use in promoting the event.
Impact:
The poster effectively conveyed all necessary event details in an eye-catching, heartwarming design. Its unique, playful approach not only drew attention but also helped increase event attendance and donations. By leveraging popular culture and holiday imagery, the poster created a sense of connection that resonated with the community, ultimately helping to boost the NHSPCA's visibility and engagement.
