Various Works from 2009-2014

Roy Lichtenstein Study (Acrylic, 2011): Influenced by pop art’s bold aesthetic, this study emulates the essence of Roy Lichtenstein’s "Stepping Out" (1987), exploring how visual elements can evoke emotion through minimalistic yet powerful design. By manipulating color and form, I aimed to translate the vibrancy of pop art into a statement about contemporary visual culture. The use of bright, contrasting palettes and graphic imagery demonstrates how simple yet effective design choices can make an immediate impact. This work highlights my ability to craft attention-grabbing visuals that resonate deeply, making art both accessible and unforgettable in its simplicity.

Oni Dragon Mask (Watercolor, 2009): This piece draws inspiration from Japanese culture and its rich symbolism of good, evil, and protection. Through the Oni Dragon Mask, I explored the balance between strength and vulnerability, capturing the contrasting forces that drive personal growth and transformation. The vibrant use of color and brushstroke techniques reflects my commitment to creating work that feels dynamic and emotionally resonant. The mask symbolizes resilience and the power of tradition, offering a visual narrative that connects deeply with viewers, encouraging reflection on the forces that shape us.

Melting Clock Sculpture (Colored Wire Mounted to Wooden Base, 2011): In this sculpture, I reimagined Salvador Dalí’s “The Persistence of Memory” with a focus on translating surrealist themes into a modern, tactile form. The colored wire and modern color palette of vibrant pink inject a fresh perspective on the concept of distorted time. By blending a classical theme with contemporary design, I sought to communicate the fluidity of time—an ever-present force that shapes our experiences and decisions. This piece challenges the viewer to rethink their relationship with time, urging them to embrace the moment. My approach combines artistic creativity with a strong sense of purpose, aimed at sparking meaningful reflection and dialogue.
