Title: Let's Talk About Mental Health (ltamg.org- not a real website or organization)
Challenge
What began as a school project inspired by my own journey with mental health has evolved into a broader mission: to create safe, inclusive spaces where open mental health conversations can thrive. The project focuses on developing accessible, engaging materials for clinicians, wellness events, and individuals seeking resources—particularly those navigating depression. The goal is to use thoughtful design as a way to encourage connection, reduce stigma, and make self-help information approachable.
Process
The visual approach started with a clean, minimal, and modern design that would resonate with adults living with depression. A calm and inclusive color palette was chosen, echoing the tones associated with Mental Health Awareness Week. Through sketches, feedback sessions, and multiple iterations, the design matured into a cohesive identity.
A faux brand, ltamh.org (Let’s Talk About Mental Health), was created to build community awareness. Within this, the KindMind brochure series was launched to help destigmatize mental health and provide digestible, research-backed guidance. Inclusive design choices—such as the introduction of a non-binary icon—reinforce the message that mental health resources are for everyone.
The brand expanded to include t-shirts and visual assets using KindMind's aesthetic. These pieces are designed to amplify the message in everyday settings and spark meaningful conversations through visibility and representation.
Impact
The project offers a set of visual tools that promote understanding, accessibility, and empathy. Clinicians can use these materials to support clients, enhance community outreach, or facilitate group discussions. The branding and assets normalize mental health conversations while fostering a sense of belonging—especially for underserved or marginalized groups.
Each element, from brochures to apparel, aims to uplift individuals and promote unity in mental health advocacy.
Note: The bottom image below reflects the first iteration of the project titled "Depression Facts & Health." Since then, the project has continued to evolve through feedback, research, and creative iteration.
